2006 Felt Sector XL
2006 Felt Sector XL
(SOLD)
When I got back into racing in 2007, I started by using my 1989 Free Agent Limo. It is still my all time favorite, best riding, bike. However, I wanted something newer I could race without worry. After some research and looking at several brands, I found this used Felt frame and decided to build it. So far, I like it!

Nice looking bike. Personally, the all black thing is played out for me, so I'm glad you threw some chrome on there to break things up. Looks like the geometry is eerily similar to your Limo. BTW, have you ridden a new Limo?

Re: 2006 Felt Sector XL
I have NOT ridden a new Limo, but almost bought one when I ended up with this Felt. Have you ridden the new Limo? Any thoughts?
I am still struggling with how heavy the front end feels on this compared to the Limo and my current Cruiser (07 Floval).

Saw the bike at Derby Downs last night. Looks good. The Flights caught my eye, and then I noticed the bmxmuseum sticker on the back of your plate... Also saw the Free Agent on your bike rack. It looks good as well.

I haven't ridden one either (I don't ride aluminum anymore), so I can't share any thoughts, except that if they still made a cromo Limo, I'd probably have one.
The back end on that Felt looks REALLY long, which would explain why the front feels so heavy.

Why don't you ride aluminum???
Upgrade your bike until it's exactly how you want it then go on to the next bike

I'm old and aluminum transmits too much of the shock into the rider's body. Also Al. bikes ride totally different. Chromoly has a lot more "spring" to it, is more forgiving, stronger and tends to bend before it breaks, unlike aluminum which just snaps when it fails. Basically, I prefer every aspect of chromoly to aluminum.

I am on a chromoly Standard cruiser now. Wow. Love it! Have parked my 20" and am going only cruiser racing this year.
