Re: HOT RODS

Yeh Utes , panel vans and ever station wagons all made buy the 3 big manufactures eg Holden , Ford , and Chrysler BITD you just dont see them anymore .
I saw a little Ford Escort 1200 panel van early 1970,s the other day bright Orange with hippie  brown stripes , can not say I have seen one in decades .
My brother and I had two of them BITD as paddock bashers , we totalled both of them smashing into each other and everything until you could no longer repair the cars , we used to get them for a few hundred dollars from trading post paper back then and race then on our dirt track in paddocks till they died , then just buy some other cheap car and do the same again lollol
These days you can,nt get anything cheap as a junker is worth money just as scrap  metal , Government was giving $1000 dollars to scrap old cars , people were making good money going around and picking up old and abandoned cars for free and cashing them in at scrap yards $$$$$$..

It really sucks seeing that happen with older classic cars with the whole scrap and emissions thing. It’s best to preserve rather than destroy but when it comes to the almighty “jerk off dollar holla” everything is off the table.

It’s a funny thing when these cars came out in the 60’s and early 70’s even in the US they were nothing but cheap transportation marketing  for the younger generation with tons of horsepower and gimmicks not knowing it would turn into the collective hobby world we live in to today with these cars. Kinda sounds like this hobby of BMX right?  Restoration and customs are still going strong in the states though…just gotta have deep pockets, patience, general know how.

Absolutely, that whole crew is outstanding. They probably have the best show out there as we speak.

So bad ass! Glad that Pro Street is still going strong in Australia. It almost made a comeback in the states here a few years ago being called Pro Street ll but it seems the Restomod craze is here to stay in the US.

Here’s something different worth mentioning. Chris Mull’s ‘63 Datsun NL320. Only 1000 of these pint sized gems were manufactured between ‘63 through ‘65. Very cool truck here.
