Re: 1984 SE Racing Hauler
I thought about repainting, but....i kinda like that "antiqued" look of old paint. I wish the Landing Gear stickers were in better shape. They are hard to find.

Hey, Dont tell anybody, but I make landing gear stickers...
I also have this bike, in purple..wish it was higher quality.
Tim Judge got his own Hutch, and Toby gets this?
Did you know he is still VERy involved in cycling? Toby Henderson Products, or T.H.E.

Re: 1984 SE Racing Hauler
Nice bike. Leave the bike as it is. The original paint and decals make the bike more desirable in my opinion. The Hauler was only made for a couple of years in 83-85 I believe. The serial number means nothing and won't tell you the year. Chromoly frame built to the same specs as a PK Ripper. These bikes were grossly underestimated in my humble opinion. If you are looking for a Hauler frame, there is a white one on ebay right now. Also Nitrowang on ebay has NOS Hauler decal kits that he got direct from the OM awhile back.

Re: 1984 SE Racing Hauler
I raced a hauler in st lou back in the day. This bike looks identical to mine ,signature and all. You sure its a 1982? I raced when i was 13-14 and that was 1986-87. I guess toby coulda had the same bike for 5-6 years but that seemed a long stretch for the same frame. Just curious.

Re: 1984 SE Racing Hauler
I think I just answered my own question if you can believe wikipedia that is. Toby race for Hutch until 1984. He went to SE cause they offered way more money ( he says it was bad move in the long run). He started with SE in 1984 and stayed until 1986. I bought my Hauler new in 1986 and it was identical to the one posted here, frame and forks that is. So my guess is this SE posted is at least a 1984 , maybe even older.

Re: 1984 SE Racing Hauler
Don't you mean `84 maybe even NEWER? You do & I think you are right, no way any HAULER is an `83 or older....only `84 to `86....SE would of had to hurry to get these out as an `84 model for Toby, maybe what we think are `84s are `85s & only made `85 & `86....HMMMMMM.........OH,PS..THIS ONE IS MINE NOW:).....Thanks Troy!
