1988 GT Ricochet

Very Yellow and apparently Completely Original

From what I understand (thank you members) It was a Han's Rey design. Great for traversing ravines on one wheel but not so much for the streets of San Pedro. A very lucky gift to my kid when our project PFT was stolen.

Re: 1988 GT Ricochet

In motorcross their is a discipline of riding called "trials" riding.  Riders negotiate their bikes through a course of steep rocky terrian and can't take their feet off the pegs or they lose points.  It requires lots of balance and bike control.  This type of riding crossed over to BMX for a short period of time.  That bike can literally go up a wall (low gearing) and in the right hands over any type of terrain.  Riders do lots of pogo moves from one boulder (or other obstacles) to another.  You can probably find old footage on You Tube.  Very methodical riding.  Not very popular.

Re: 1988 GT Ricochet

actually, youtube is full of current videos of trials riders. It is HUGE in Europe, just like David Hasslehoff.

Your bike is probably an '88. I was told they only made the frame for one year, maybe two years. I don't really know a lot about this bike; I plan on learning more.

The original owner told me that the forks were recalled and the replacement forks are a slightly different color than the rest of the frame. I know in the 20 minutes I've ridden on it since I got it, I know it is going to be a huge learning curve!
