1975 Murray

Covid-19 Lockdown Project...

I saw a 26 Schwinn cruiser done up like this with the bread loaf seat, springer type forks.  So I commenced to building my own version of a bike I had back when I was about 10 years old.  I grew up in the south and didn't know anything about department store bikes versus bike shop bmx's, I thought it was cool.

It's a department store Murray from the mid to late 70's.  Reincarnated and built with modern flare and tech.

I built this one with a few modifications, the rims are the biggest change from the wimpy 28 spoke-wheels.  I put a ACS style stem and some alloy red MX bars on it along with a $5 Pork Chop BMX rear brake.
I dig it!  It's clean and looks great!
