1981 A-Pro MX Cr-Mo

Rare variant of Akisu MX CrMo. frame - NOS

Bike store which was founded in 1974 had this in its warehouse. Current owner is very cool old school rider and when found it was prominently displayed in their shop as a curio/relic. Reminded me of how my Redline MX-II frame was hung up when I purchased it in 83'. Beautiful NOS chrome and decals, still has original Xcalibur type seat post clamp and fluted seat post zip-tied to chain stay. Original shipping box is intact and says A-pro, not Akisu.

Decals are clearly Akisu design, but the A-pro designation/brand is very rare as far as I can tell.

Wanted (in any condition):  SE Racing --> Anything pre Fuji  |  Comp II type tread fat/skinny tire set in black |   Premier Super BMX helmets

The weapon of America's deadliest mass killer, Timmy McVeigh, was fertilizer. Maybe we should ban bullshit, but that would shut down Washington, DC and all five major TV networks.

Awesome. I've never seen that A-Pro version of the decals.  It does have the aero top and down tubes, correct?

Re: 1981 A-Pro MX Cr-Mo

Beautiful bike, thanks for posting!

I think this has helped me identify my old frame -- which I bought used around 1990, and thought it was a Redline at the time.

I recently got it back into riding condition, keeping with the Redline theme and using mostly newer Redline parts.  But the mystery of the frame remained, until now!
