1985 Profile Racing Champ Pro

1985 Profile Racing Champ Pro

My favorite 80s race bike.

Finally have exactly what I’ve always wanted in a Profile (after building 5 of them), except for the headset.  I’d love to put an Epoch on it, but the steerer tube is too short.

Frame: Profile Champ Pro
Fork:  Profile Champ Pro
Bars: Diamond Back Woody Itson
Stem: Hutch Western H
Headset: some chrome thing with SST Dirt Skirt
Headset lock: DK 2N1, 2 1/2” rise
Grips: Oakley B2
Seat: CyclePro Shot Gun II
Seat post:  Robinson layback
Seat post clamp: Odyssey
Rims:  Ambrosio Durex
Hubs: GT Race Lace
Spokes: stainless with blue alloy nipples
Tires:  Comp III.  Repop 2.125 front (after blowing out my clean Comp IV), rainbow label 1.75 rear
Pedals:  Shimano DX
Cranks:  Profile 3rd gen, 180mm
Spider: Profile
Chainring:  Sugino 44t
Chain:  Sedisport, 3/32”
Freewheel:  Suntour 16t
Brake:  Dia Compe MX900
Lever:  Dia Compe Tech 3
Brake Pads: Mathauser finned
Pads: Zeronine
Plate: Zeronine Moto Control System

Things I need:  Chrome MX-900s and Tech 3 (rear), 1st or 2nd gen finned Mathauser pads with original hardware.

Re: 1985 Profile Racing Champ Pro

That’s really nice! Don’t usually like those Robinson posts but it looks great on this! cool

Check out my 1983 VDC-built Trident, 1983 Kuwi Laserlite, 2010 GT Ultrabox 2, 2011 Crupi race rig and prototype Quamen, plus the all things Crupi & old school scene in Japan threads. Always interested in buying used, mid-school race plates and pads - UGP, Knucklebone, Lizard Skins, Pryme and the like, me like!!
