1986 Diamond Back Hot Streak

Cool

I'm not a 100% clear on the year as in one of my photos it appears the frame is a 1985 the forks are also stamped 1985 but every single other part on this bike is stamped 1986   Some people get a little sensitive to what they believe is the improper date but I believe it's an early 1986 every single thing as far as I know is original down to the brake pads, other than the brake levers were swapped out at 1 point and grips are not original I replaced them with some old school Redlines but still have them,  And the bike had no pedals when I received it so I put some old school graphites on their, at least their time period correct,  And I'm still looking for an original chain guard, brake levers are one thing but a chain guard may be tricky

85!  I don't think 86s had those style platforms or race bars. My gray 85 was like yours but not nearly as original. Sweet bike!

It's weird because the brakes, cables, handlebars, wheels, tires, everything is stamped 86 but the frame and forks are stamped 1985 so my buddy and I were thinking it might have been a late 85 model early 86  Also there is no rotor But there is a brake line bracket on the forks like there could have been  But no drilled stem bolt I'm wondering if it was a left over and some small bike shop ended up with it in 86 and just put new parts on it, It leaves one to wonder

But thanks man, I really like it I've had a few late 80's diamondbacks but never one this early
