1988 Savoy XL500

THE ONLY ONE IN THE MUSEUM, MY TRIBUTE BIKE TO THE MUSEUM THANKS FOR THE DECALS GARY! Rare bike.

Bought this bike along with many others in a Lot purchase this frame was in the mix going to build it back up, so far I have a stem, rotor, old school CW bars, old school grey pair of Tuff 2's, a Mid 80's chainwheel and crank, Freestyle 980 calipers, Lee Chi locking levers, I believe I have the correct lower part of the stem but its missing the cap, not real clear on what color, type of forks, and pedals I should use just yet. This is a Union made bike as far as the decal says

I've got a couple others in the process of restore within the next couple weeks both will be completed and my main focus will be this, but at this moment the decals are a bit of a struggle because theres none in existance and my local decal guy is giving it his best shot on building me some new ones once this bike is built it will be the only one in the museum and accesable on the whole Net, there is no information on this bike anywhere accept for a few chat rooms in the museum wondering why this bike can't be found anywhere

Re: 1988 Savoy XL500

Wow!!!! I've been looking to see a Savoy in the museum. You're right, you are the only one. Lol. I had one for many years. Everyone else had a GT, Haro, Mongoose, etc...so I used my father's air gun and painted it white mixed with glow in the dark. I'm glad you posted pics. Enjoy it.

I posted this bike a couple years ago at that time there were none in the museum, posted this in  2018 wink

They were cool bikes looks like you just had posted yours this year, welcome to the team, it is a Royce Union bike but I did a search on all they're were none the ones you have shown were posted this year so I had a two-year run where there were none, you want to look at the dates of the post but your right mine may have been a 900 your right, couldn't see the decals underneath very well

A friend of mine's son ended up with it and he absolutely loves it and still has it a local kid rides it everywhere the person I got it from would have just let it go to the scrap yard if I didn't take it but I brought it back to life as much as I could without investing a ton of money and time and ended up making a buddy of mine's kid very happy
