1981 Murray X24

Track Certified from July 81’ production line. Still has one of the original pads plus chain guard.

I couldn’t pass up the chance to snatch this 1981 Murray X24 off of CL. Decals still intact with the date decal showing 07-81. Picked this up from a guy who found it at a goodwill in Austin. He originally wanted $400 for it. LOL. He thought he’d hit the jackpot. I gave him a verbal gut punch and expressed that it’s just a rusty old Murray that needs a ton of love. Both are partially and harshly true, but I wasn’t gonna pay 400 fn dollars.  We agreed on $40 bucks so he still doubled his money. I needed a project to work on and the Murray was there with all the rust. This tanker will get an OA bath as a trial and error experience for me to save any future agony if I screw it up. It’s nearly original minus the vbar pad, stem pad, reflectors, and pedals. All easily attainable with some patience on the vbar and stem pad. Surprisingly, the chain guard was there. As a kid, I always removed chain guards and chunked em in the back of our garage cause they were pussy.

Re: 1981 Murray X24

I boned it on the seat, NOSTALGIA007 thanks for fillin me in. hmm Is the v bar pad the slick vinyl style or the standard style fabric?  If it’s a slick vinyl style that matches mine, I’d love to see a picture of it. I don’t plan on investing too much. That’s only if you’re bringing it up to me as something you’d sell......of course.
