1983 Skyway T/A

1983 Skyway T/A built by a cop! Yeah, we ride also!!

Put this bike together to replace one that I had in my childhood. The original was stolen (set up by someone I knew) but she is back better than the original!! Bullseye cranks, Hutch pedals, Power Lite powerbend bars, NOS Pro Neck snake seat post with NOS Kashimax seat, Ame grips, Araya 7X's with Bullseye Hubs, NOS Terry cable with Dia-Compe MX 1000 brakes, Dk stem, Tioga Bear Trap head set and more. I didn't use any re-issue or repro parts on her except for the grips. :o)

Awesome build for a "one timer" if you know what I mean. I say "Five from the sky". Be safe out there we have to stick together.

Re: 1983 Skyway T/A

doesn't look like an 83, check the brake bridge. my guess is its probably an 84 model with a late 83 date stamped on it.

Marcus i still plan on picking up that f&f, i just got sidetracked...wait till you see!

No 83's came painted.a few Early 84's came with the leftover curved brakebridge.

Re: 1983 Skyway T/A

Z-rims I think made a serial run down with chrom/paint and brakebridge detail.

Tony - when you pull the serials for your bikes, you can either send them to me or post them on the new thread here: http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=115155

Dion - he changed the wheel set on this ride just in time for Summer Slam (visible next to his other three bikes there). We built up a pair of minty red Araya 7x's with the red, white and blue bullseye hubs and white spokes with blue nipples. He then threw on real white comp III's. It looks great.

He hasn't even posted his white Trickstar or blue Pro racer as far as I know.
