I've definitely seen your's bro, and it's definitely an inspiration! I've been lurking in the the Race Inc section of this forum for a while. Finally decided to just go ahead and get one, and this one popped up. I'm stoked because I really wanted a ball burnished frame, and now I'll have one.

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24

So after much consideration and cost analysis, I decided to go with white powder coating over ball burnishing. The cost of polishing, shipping to and from, then the cost of the process itself was too high. I was also concerned that because I couldn't see the final product until it was shipped back, I was running the risk of not being satisfied and having to ship it back etc, etc.

Dropped the frame off today. Dropped the forks off yesterday for show chroming.

Updated the post with some "before pics"...

Two words. Blue Magic.

That stuff will polish anything with very little effort.

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24

Just got the frame back from powder coating. The forks should be ready by the end of the month. Also, I just realized the seller included a Race Inc seatpost. It's in pretty bad shape, but I'll have it chromed to match the forks.

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24

Got my Ukai hoops all cleaned up and ready for polishing. They'll be fitted with some 3rd gen sealed sunshine hubs a friend has for me along with a pro neck and some DC MX1000's. I also put some new red decals on the crank arms and picked up some OG Shimano DX's. Should have the hubs, stem and brakes by the end of the week.

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24

Just about finished. Polished up the hoops and ordered my spokes and nipples. Once the wheels are built up, I'll be able to finish up (for now) and take this rig for a spin

Re: 1982 Race Inc. RA-24

Finally got it up and running! Super stoked. Eventually I’ll swap out the bars for proper Race Inc. Cruiser bars and would like a nos elina saddle down the road.
