Always wanted a Trick Star when I was younger but ended up riding Haro's, Redline's and GT's

Bought this frame and fork from JDB when they came out and was very happy with what I received. I always knew I wanted the pink FF with mostly chrome parts. Sourced the parts from some of the usual stores including:

Thanks man, it was my rider through the summer (When I had time) All the kids at the skatepark here loved it. But it is winter in Canada, so the bike goes in the basement for another six months.

Re: 2015 Hutch Trick Star

Glenn,
How many of these did they make? I missed them. What are the angles, please? I probably would have bought the same Hutch stuff that you have on this one.
It turned out rad.
Has Steve seen it?
Wade

Re: 2015 Hutch Trick Star

Hey Wade,

To the best of my knowledge they only made 6 pink flatland F/F sets. I'm not sure about the other combinations. Here are some details on the F/F sets:

2015 Trick Star has arrived and will be available for purchase factory-direct on the HutchBMX.com web site the first week of January. The 2015 Trick Star is a newly-engineered frame from the ground up with all geometry and technology updated for today, and comes in 2 versions: flatland or street/park. The photos here show the flatland version, which includes the standing platform and comes in 2 colors: chrome-plated and Hutch pink (pics of the street/park version coming soon). Be sure to look through all the photos. The Trick Star Flatland has a 19.5? top tube, 13.875? chain stay, 75 degree head tube, mid BB, 14mm frame drop outs, 3/8? fork drop outs, 25.4mm seat post, removable cable guides (included), removable gyro tabs (included), and removable brake posts on frame and fork (included). The Trick Star frame and fork combo price is $499.95 just like the race frames, even though there’s more details that go into making them.

I haven't seen Steve in a while. Darren, Brent and I get together at least every year around Christmas, and Steve sometimes makes it. I think he still keeps pretty private.

Re: 2015 Hutch Trick Star

The rear end is a bit long for modern riding - 13.25" would be better - but otherwise I'm pretty jealous. I looked around online and found out they did a couple candy purple ones, too. It would have been tough to choose between these for me. JDB doesn't seem to have anymore of these.
I am getting the new 2016 Haro Flat Master - chrome with all the right angles. If the Trick Star and the Master were both available in the same geometry - I'd probably have to get a Trick Star.
I only ever had one 1980s Trick Star - a white one that I gave to Steve. He says that it might be at United Cycle.

Re: 2015 Hutch Trick Star

Glenn - could you please measure your rear end? That is, from centre of crank spindle to centre of axle?
Cheers,
W

Re: 2015 Hutch Trick Star

Do you run chain tensioners on this bike? I just got one of these frames and I'm trying to find which ones would fit.
