Trying to decide what parts from the stash to throw on this. Still have ALOT of parts arriving too, making it harder to choose.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

Playing around with some of my Mongeese, Mongii, Mongooseseses(?), and came across this -
https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/205155/20220112_19461661dfa12ac5.jpg
I'm thinking it was marked down from $20 to $15 at some point. It still seems pretty pristine and barely ridden.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

I have a 1983 Skyway TA that I am restoring. I did an oxalic acid bath and am about to coat the inside of the frame, forks, handlebars, and seat post with an antirust treatment, but I have a few questions.

First, has anyone used a service to restore or redo the chrome finish and been happy with the results? I have seen a lot of posts of people that did not get good results and ended up painting their bikes instead. The inside of my forks look the worst. I am debating between just polishing them up and then using car wax on the outside of the bike to stop any further rusting from occurring versus having the forks completely stripped and then re-chromed.  I am open to suggestions and looking for any tips.

Second, I cleaned up my Tuff Wheel 2's and they are seriously faded. I have seen people re-dye, or just dye, Tuff Wheels and am curious what the community thinks. I kind of like the survivor look. It lets people know that the bike is vintage right off.

I plan on riding the bike again. I am leaning towards just doing the best to preserve the bike as a survivor. The only parts that I am replacing are a crushed set of caged bearings in the frame for the forks and neck. I also bought the MX-1000 breaks that are reproductions and a set of reproduction stickers, but only plan on replacing the stickers on the forks. Other than that the bike is 100% all original except for the innertubes. Yes, the tires are from the late 80's and still in good shape.

I would appreciate any restoration tips and services that people have used and are happy with. I think if if I go all out, by stripping the bike down to the metal, have the chrome finish redone, re-anodize the pedals, sprocket, and seat clamp, or purchase vintage parts to replace the seat and breaks that I will end up hanging it on the wall as a piece of art.
