That's my hobby too

Guilty here too!

I feel like I'm committing a crime every time I open stuff New In Box or NOS 20+ years old to put it on.

Its like my own secret bank heist but I'm losing. +1.

Who cares?

If you see this as some sort of twisted investment then you're here for the wrong reasons. If you see it as an investment and are profiting from it you're an a hole in the wall and ruining it for those who want to own stuff and put it to use. Its intended use.

I could die tomorrow and not give a shit. If I had put myself out financially to own this stuff I have I would kick my own ass. It's here to be enjoyed.

The fact it's even NOS is pretty sad. It means either no one ever used it or just held onto it. In either case they are bikes, made to be ridden. And they are parts made to be used. Not sat one some bean counter's shelf. I've never even thought about what any of my shit is worth. Neither in parts or as complete bikes (which is what I want). Fact is I did not care. I got my priorities perfectly in place, and most stuff comes way before the bikes. They are add ons. Ones I could lose tomorrow and not be in financial disarray. People might have nicer shit than I do. Have seen plenty. Fact is these guys are so tied up about the financial worth they are terrified to ever do anything with it. Which again, sucks balls.

Thatโ€™s why I think it works. Metal finish drivetrain. Vs add one color part and itโ€™s all got to be color coordinated.
