1978 Schwinn Competition Scrambler

Great Survivor

Picked this up locally from its original owner.  Completely all original.  Bike was stored very well over the years.  I haven't even cleaned her up yet.   With the longer top tube length and seat tube angle this is a really nice riding bike. One of my favorite's in my collection.  Just love the look, feel and history :)

Gotta love that Schwinn lime green!!

I can't believe the way people mistreat bikes. It also amazes me how many people don't have any bikes and never ride them - poor miserable souls.

Very cool, These bikes are rare as it is, let alone the special order green. My understanding is green, black, and chrome were frame only, they were ordered as a frame and built. Whereas the blue, Silver, and red were completes, but could also be ordered as a frame only.  Unique features to the Comp Scramblers - Chromoly tubing, hand brazed at the Schwinn Paramount shop, Shimano rear track drop outs(extra thick) they basically used the road bike drop outs but reversed them. Large diameter 26.8mm seat post from the paramount racing bikes, fairly steep seat tube angle and head tube angle. I have a 76 Comp Scrambler survivor, check it out in my bikes. Instant Fav!
