Re: 2000 GT Bump

Great Bump! Almost perfect, isn't it? Perhaps I should be inspired to do some modifications on my Bump too.
Keep rockin' good old Bump!

Re: 2000 GT Bump

its my 2nd favorite bike besides my tour. im debating if I want to use my "show" crank, because the spindle is modified to use sealed 22mm bearings. then go with a 39t chainwheel, and maybe gt fubar handlebars. I love my mirra bars though

Re: 2000 GT Bump

You think about "GT show cranks"? The would fit perfect, for that frame needs some real big and solid parts. I want to fit in some CPI BMX cranks, but I'm looking very unsucessfully for the crank adapters to 22mm spindle.
The original spindle (24mm), the same as the show cranks spindle is missing.
I'm courious about your "work in progress".

Re: 2000 GT Bump

Now I see You already mounted the Show cranks.
How did You modify them to fit on a regular 22mm spindle?
Cool Bike!

Re: 2000 GT Bump

I hand filed the spindle down to 22mm. it took forever, but its well worth it. I would never spend the 80.00 or so for those machined adapters. I will eventually get another pair that are near mint and put back on the tour. these are rider condition already, so I will use them

Re: 2000 GT Bump

I see. It takes just the big spindle and a lot of work to fit it. Thank You, some day Ill find one of these huge spindles. Or find someone to handcraft it, one, or two, or three of them for there are al lot of single cpi crank pairs (without spindle) out there.

Re: 2000 GT Bump

That's why I tend to buy new school stuff by looking for whole bikes only.
Only problem: most of the bikes are fun enough as they are and I can't bear to chop them.

Re: 2000 GT Bump

True, I was going to get a 2012 performer from craigslist, but the kid backed out. A few people here sell complete bikes but there trash and they want new cost
