Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

OMG. Blue would rule the world. On polishing it, is it raw or clear coated? If its clear coated, go to a paint shop and ask for a stripperthat is safe for aluminum. Im not that experienced with aluminum, both of my elves are chromo.

CLEANNNNN!!  Can't go wrong with all that blue.

Are those genuine Elf handlebars?

Check this out, looks like 2 Hip stole the idea:

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

those are genuine elf 6 piece blast bars in aluminum   i also have the origonal blast vars in chromo.   Be careful when you buy the bars and or elf zip back seat posts.   the same design  was made by a couple differant companies like hoffman and redline

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

cool, thanks for responding. i think ill just have buy some land and use it for building jumps and trails before it all gets gobbled up and made into ugly subdivisions.

hey elf_dude. my wife reminded me that we went camping in morris by the i&m canal this spring with our schnauzer. i should have brought my bike along and looked for trails- i saw several kids on bmx bikes heading into the nearby woods. oh well. maybe next time.

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

18 lbs 9 oz   everything is aluminum but the forks   I am in the process of having the frame polished and clear coated  relacing the rims with lighter hubs since the hubs are first generation Phil woods.   And changing the tires form the heavy megabites to a set of Haro kevlar holeshots  which will make it lighter  new weight in and pictures soon

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

thanx for the compliment  Current status of this bike is pieces in a box waiting for the frame to get polished and re clear coated  also trying to get the decals re made since i can not find the DX-III decal anywhere.  Also having the first gen phil woods removed and having ELF hubs laced into the wheels.

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

this is the nicest elf i have ever seen, you just need a cruiser to match it. also how much are you paying for anodizing the frame.

Re: 1998 ELF DX-III

I couldnt get an answer back from any ano company  so i am just going to polish and clear coat again even thoguh the blue would be bad azzzz i think it would over power  and take away from the aluminum look i went for.   Good luck on finding these bars it took me awhile and i payed top top dollar for them they are awesome  i cant wait to get it back together.   New pics soon
