2012 S&M Intrikat
2012 S&M Intrikat
A One-Off custom built for my Son from a Limited Edition Chad Johnston Intrikat.
This project started Life as a Limited Edition Chad Johnston Intrikat frame, production number 007 of 025. It was supposed to be for me in the beginning so I had a custom platform welded on (NOT done by S&M). I ended up building this for my Son instead and presenting it to him on his 7th Birthday. Right after I had the custom platform welded on I had the frame powdercoated in My Son's favorite color: Ducati Red. I built the bike up with with some good parts that would last my Son a very long time.
Build took a few months and was completed just a few days before my Son's Birthday. It was presented to him at his birthday party at Chucky Cheese on August 11th 2012.

Re: 2012 S&M Intrikat
Now this is what I call a custom build, built to the nine as well. Amazing.......can't do any better than this rig, well done my friend. Your a great person as well, chopping this bike up and building it for your son is A+ stuff man, very impressive.
Ummmmm..........Yeah.

Re: 2012 S&M Intrikat
KILLER! I was just about to ask what they were going to call this over at S&M (then I read the full description). You have completely killed any chance of me ordering a stock bike from S&M or STANDARD.
I am SERIOUSLY following all your builds because I'm going to build a new school bike next year and I want to know exactly what new school bike a seasoned GT PFT lover / rider ends up happy with.
KEEP up the KILLER Builds!

Re: 2012 S&M Intrikat
Thanks for the kind words guys.......yes, all my builds are unique in some way.
The thing is I am used to Old School geometry (long chainstays, high seat tube height, etc) and there is NOBODY out there on the market that offers a frame to the geometry specs that I like so I am forced to go the custom frame route.
My next build will be a Woody Itson Pro Model frame done by Rick Moliterno at Standard Bykes (like the ones done for Woody and Martin)....same specs and geometry as my '85 US Trick Star frame with 1 and 1/8" headtube and 990 mounts on lower rear chainstays.
STAY TUNED....
