Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

Is this the one that was in your mom's attic? Good save! Can't wait to see the finished project.

Some people need to get down off of their crosses, use the wood to build a bridge and GET OVER IT!!!!
I don't build bikes. I just assemble them.

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

Man.....This is still not working out ..The brake pads are not meeting the rim. They are meeting the tire half way. What is a fix here i wonder...Maybe take out some washers so the brake itself sits lower?

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

it will let you slide the rim to the brake, instead of brake to rim

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

You will need a longer brake on the front(somehting like a MX1000).

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

Thats what i was figering. U knw that really stinks. i have spared no expense on this bike and now I have to get a bigger brake. And the funny thing is I knew that the cages were small on this style. i guess I didnt take into cosideration that they may not fit. just another part to try and find on ebay. I have everything waiting to go for the 83 Super.Yall, I am so excited to get parts back from chromer I could just pis!@#$% myself

Re: 1983 Mongoose Californian

Micheal,

Could you please tell me the SN of this bike? I have a similar bike, and bought it from a guy in my hometown, who I think got it from you! Did you sell it to a dude in Hondo, TX? Then I have your bike, now!
