1985 Hutch Trick Star

American made 1985 Trick Star

This Trick Star Frame and Fork was purchased in 1985 for about $165 while I was in the U.S. Army. In March of that year I was sent to Panama and subsequently had my Hutch shipped to my new residence, Ft. Clayton- home of the 193rd Inf and the U.S. Southern Command.  While in Panama I learned a good dozen or so new tricks, and spent countless hours riding one of several quarter pipes that we had stashed here or there. Also that year NASA paid us a little visit after the Shuttle Disaster and Noriega took control of the government.  I competed in only one Freestyle competition with my Hutch, and that took place in Panama City in 1986.
When I got out of the Army I had my Hutch shipped back home to Minnesota where I rode it for a couple more years and then parked it in my folks garage where it resided until 2010. During that time it was subjected to about 10 years of ice cream cones and sticky fingers- nieces and nephews, along with a few neighbor kids all thought it was real cool to ride the purple, pink and chrome BMX bike. Then my Hutch sat, and then it sat some more, in fact the tires were pretty much rotted away when I discovered that it was worth quite a bit of money.
