1979 Redline MX-II

1979 Redline MX-II Race Bike

Took awhile to get all the parts, but it's done.  This was a fun build.
SPECS:
Frame/Fork - '79 Redline MX-II (serial number - RI 00###) made in Japan.
Bars/Grips - Race Inc. with Tange Grips
Stem - Pro-Neck
Headset - Tioga w/Dirt Skirt
Rims/Hubs - Schwinn (made by CMC) Red Anno w/shiny-sides & Suzue Hubs
Cranks - Tioga/Sugino 175 with Tioga BB
Chainring/Freewheel - Tufneck 43, Suntour 16
Chain - D.I.D. (Nickel Plated)
Pedals - MKS BM-5
Seatpost/Seat/Clamp - Uni Pro with original Fluted post, Suntour
Brakes - Dia Compe 1020 (10/81)
Pads/Plate - Rad Pads, Hunt Wilde (USA)

Here's a pic of me 22 years ago on my Huffy or Schwinn that I painted up to look like my neighbor's Redline.  He was an older dude and must have thought I was crazy.  Well, this bike was what inspired me to build a real one.  Better late than never I guess. :)

Haha! That is awesome! We have a lot in common. Thats so great that you have a picture of you on your old bike, I never bothered to take any pictures way back then...wish I had. All I knew was that if I burned and sanded off all the paint and put some Redline decals in it, it would become a Redline! :-) In my head I was atleast 90% happy to be riding my 'Redline'. The build looks great! Nice job. Congratulations on finally getting the real deal.
