2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood

# 27 in the Limited Edition Series.

2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood Mike Miranda Signature Series
Since this is a retro bike, I felt it gave me license to use older and newer parts.  The CW frame, fork, bars, and seat post form the base of the project.  On the older side, I used NOS Dia Compe brakes on the front and on the rear along with an unmarked, chrome stem from a CW Z-1500.  On the newer side, I used current Profile cranks along with a Profile Imperial spider.  In between, I used Skyway Tuff Wheel II wheels, a Viscount Dominator seat from Porkchop, and A’me Round grips.  I know there may be some critique of the selected parts, but I like it!  I noticed in a CW thread in the "Catchall" in 2/2012 that 37 of these frame/fork/bars/seatpost kits were sold before they stopped offering them for sale.  So, this is #27 of 37.  I wonder how many of the 37 were Cosmichrome Blue?
Parts & Specs:  Frame & Fork:  CW Racing ZX Hollywood Mike Miranda Signature Series  Brake Cables:  Porkchop BMX - white (I have the silver NOS, dated Dia Compe cables)  Brake Calipers:  Dia Compe MX 901 (NOS)  Brake Levers:  Dia Compe Tech-4 (NOS)  Chain:  KMC  Chainring / Spider:  Profile Imperial CNC Gear - 44 tooth  Cranks:  Profile CR-MO 175mm Deluxe crankset   Freewheel:  Suntour 16 tooth  Grips:  A’me Round  Handlebars:  2010 CW Racing Pro   Headset:  Tioga Beartrap II 1 inch threaded  Padset:  2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood Mike Miranda Signature Series  Pedals:  Odyssey BMX Triple Trap  Seat Clamp: Dia-Compe style hinged clamp  Seat Post:  2010CW (Revcore)  Seat:  Viscount Dominator  Stem:  Unmarked stem from CW Z-1500 (Replaced with a polished Profile XL stem)  Tires:  Duro Comp III tread  Wheels:  Skyway Tuff Wheel II

Re: 2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood

I took it out for the first time today.  I heard one guy say to his wife, "That is a nice blue, isn't it."  Of course, I saw several people with the "what is he doing on a kids' bike look" on their faces as well!  It rides pretty smoothly.

Re: 2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood

I am going to swap out the old stem I am using (a salvage from an old Z-1500) for a new Profile stem.  The old stem is coming loose every time I ride, and I already replaced the stem bolt and the wedge.

Awesome build I love the Old School / New School mix great job.........

I don't know what I'd do if anything ever happened to my girlfriend. But first, I'd
probably burn my clothes....
I'm wasting my time trying to come come up with a good quote, so, out of anger, I'm going to waste your time by having you read this one.... Mr T pities the emos, thats why they're sad...

Re: 2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood

Cutest bicycle I ever seen. Since it is submitted three years back I guess someone must have stole this.

Re: 2010 CW Racing ZX Hollywood

I ride this bike fairly often, and I still get the occasional excited comment from guys who used to ride when they were young or guys who specifically remember CW.  When the last guy mentioned he or his brother had a Phaze 1 in their youth, I said I still had mine and he was practically beside himself!
