Re: 1995 Redline PL-24

My first post on this forum. Killer site! I have a PL24 just like that. I enjoy riding it. Mine has the modern double pinch Flites (late 90's). Nice Bike. What size freewheel do you run with the 45T?

Re: 1995 Redline PL-24

I think I have 42 x 17 on mine and for the track we used to race at it was just about right. We don't have a track near by anymore so I just ride with the kid around the neighborhood now.

Re: 1995 Redline PL-24

Hey Fella's
tone down those gears...please..
if you run a 16 on the back, use a 39 or 40 up front..
or maybe a 41/17 or something?
guess I need to post a gear chart, to show this stuff eh?
also, if you can, step up the White industries sealed freewheel! they are GREAT!
expensive, but well worth it!!

Re: 1995 Redline PL-24

hey, I just found a great chart, that shows how similar ratios can be had with smaller, and thus lighter gear combos:

found over here at Artcycles.com:

Re: 1995 Redline PL-24

Nice Cruiser!
If you don't mind my asking, what's the serial #?  I'm trying to date and id my cruiser which is similar to yours in many ways.  I'm not sure if it's a PL-24 an RL-444 or a RL544?  I know it's about a 97 or maybe 98 model by the date on the fork tube.

Thanks for your help,
