1981 CYC Panther

'81 CYC PANTHER This is built just like mine was when I was young. Nothing high end, but this is how I rolled BITD!!

Last 2 pics are from 2011 and 1982 in front of the same house with my "replacement" Panther built almost exactly as it was in early 1982. Tange 1200 fork, NOS fork decals, Araya 7c's, Ashtabula crank/stem, MX seat, Snakebelly tires. Now has first gen Tuff II’s on it, as that was my second wheel set.

Re: 1981 CYC Panther

Do you have a line on other CYC decals? I'm looking for an Ames Stormer set.

BMX IS SERIOUS BUSINESS! Just ask Brian Hays.

Re: 1981 CYC Panther

I wish I had other CYC decals! These things are hard to find. Check the CYC website. I think there are some scans on there of Ames stormer decals. Maybe you could have some made.

Thanks for the compliments. These bikes do not get much love, especially a budget build like this. I probably wouldn't look twice at CYC if I did not have one as a kid!

Basically a post '78 Stormer with a CroMo front triangle, and no front gusset. Geometry is the same.

Re: 1981 CYC Panther

Real nice now and BITD shot at the front door. BMX stays the same. I dig it. This is a classic rig. This was high end goods back then. If we did not soak the love and bread into bikes there would be no mid-school.
