1998 Dyno Air
1998 Dyno Air
My first BMX bike in 12 years.
I was coming home from work and saw this Air sitting along the side of the road for sale. I remembered the Dyno name from my first go around with BMX bikes. I'd been looking for a old/mid school freestyler to ride around with my kids, so it came home with me for $45.00. It wasn't in too bad of shape. But it was left outside for a good while and the last owner thought new paint would make it look better. He spray bombed everything but the stickers. So all of the chrome got a vinegar bath and polish. Everything thing that was spray bombed got a lacquer thinner bath. Under the paint I found the original LBS's sticker. Bought a used chain wheel and crank from the classifieds on here. New cables, Oryg bearing, new red and black chain, and general cleaning and it was ready to go. I took it out for the first time tonight and she felt good. I still need to figure out how to set up the Oryg. Other than that she's good to go. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I've got new stickers for it. But I kind of like the rusted chainwheel and"weathered" look of the original stickers. I think they give it character. So the new ones are going to stay in the toolbox.

Good score!! I'm glad you saved her!
my post's # is low cuz I spend most of my time in the for sale section and all of my posts wind up getting deleted

Re: 1998 Dyno Air
Thanks guys, I took it out for a ride and realized it a little too small for my monkey arms and legs!!! My Son or Daughter may start riding it though.
