A friend of mine had this exact bike. It was super light, loved to ride it. He sold it to my brother after he got his license, and it was trashed at that point. Too bad.

Re: 1999 GT Mach One
Thats Sad.
I have an 05' M1 Expert. I grabbed it for $14 for the frame. I wanted to see what GT has come to in the past 7 years since i bought a newer GT. I Like it. The Frame feels about 3 poundish maybe 4. It really sucks that the M1 Lost the cool lil curve in the lower dropout tubes. That made the older M1's Look Madd Dope. But This 2000 M1 is my favorite primarily in the paint n decal scheme. I just wish the curve was there and the downtube a little but fatter but oh well. I still Love the Mach 1. I need to get a sweet deal on a power series frame from about 99 - 02. I wonder how they ride since i never rode a new power series. Just the older 96 Power Series. Over the Past Few Days I've been Thinking of Grabbing a Newer maybe 04 - 07 PK ripper.
My Mind Says Buy This Frame I can't Help it. I feel like I'm 10 When I Look at This. (I'm a 90's child) It's Hard to Feel Excitement for alot of old school bikes because i did not experience it as a kid so i have nothing to look back to. But Vintage Rippers look like they were way before their time. definitely My Style Frames lol.
If it Ain't GT, It ain't Me!

Re: 1999 GT Mach One
That M1 is either a 2000 or 2001. Definately not a 98 or 99. I'm pretty sure 99 was the first model year that bikes weren't made in Santa Anna because Schwinn bought them in 98 and basically changed the way GT did everything. I think the 99 model was 100% outsourced overseas immediately to make up for the 160 something million Schwinn had to cough up to buy GT, they couldn't afford to build here, then in 01 sold out to Pacific for 80 something million.
