1988 Haro Invert

Survivor

Bought new in 1988. Left to gather dust in the shed for 18 years. I was going to throw it away but mom convinced me to fix it up for sentimental reasons. Replaced rear sprocket (sadly the Suntour did not survive), replaced gyro with new Rush gyro, new Tektro brake levers, new seat by Velo (stupidly threw away original Dominator seats), new REX laid back seat post, grips by Odyssey (Jimmy LeVan) and a pair of new Maxxis Holy Rollers. The rest of the bike are original. Future plans - I would like to achieve an old school look for the bike. I just wanted to get her back on the road for my sons to enjoy (and me, of course smile) hence the new school parts.

Update:
* Found original seat post, VP plastic pedals and pegs in the shed
* Bought a set of NOS Skyways Tuffs
* Bought a set of green aluminum chain ring bolts from Justin (Porkchopzz4)
* White Viscount Dominator seat bought from dookie

Re: 1988 Haro Invert

Man I love these late 80 Haros.

There seems to be a few of these in Oz...must be time to go visit my sister in Sydney and pick one up while Im there.

I'd love to go on a roadtrip to all the out of the way little places and raid their old bike shops.
Last time I was there I went through Nowra and apprently theres a few guys down there who have some real nice NOS stock and bikes... wish Id investigated further, especially when we got turned around at the bottom of Woolongong hill (due to a car crash) and had to double back to Nowra to detour through Kangaroo Valley (never saw a Kangaroo by the way)

Looks awesome with the tuffs on it mate, and like those new Odyssey Pathfinders too... I just ordered some for my Mid-School Dyno in Red and Can't wait to get them on after seeing your ones on this bike!

No chance mate, anything of value in that area would have been snapped up by dd4130 who has some bikes on here.

Re: 1988 Haro Invert

Nice bro, this Invert helped inspire mine, not so much in looks... but the effort you put into making a mid-level Haro, into a PIMPED HARO!!! SWEET!!!

Sweet. I had one back in the day but traded for a Dyno Pro Compe. Should not have done that.
