1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

This is one of my three complete ELF bikes that I had the pleasure of building. In 1993 I bought an ELF 20 inch ZR1 which was stolen from me 4 months later by some mentally challenged person and I became crazy looking for another one. Well, about 2 years ago I began finding the parts I wanted to use for my first build so the madness began. This is my third one. I got this bike off of some guy on ebay for $170.00 (SUCKER) !! I am not 100% sure but I think it might be all origional like the day it was produced. If anyone has any info on my thoughts please leave a comment I am always willing to expand my knowledge. The parts are as follows: ELF PRO frame and fork from August 1995 ELF handle bars ELF seat (nos) ELF aluminum seat post(nos) ELF seat clamp (nos) ELF stem (nos) TecTro rear brake Cheng Shin Tyres Weinmann Double wall 20x1.5 /406 rims K.K. hubs VP-747 pedals Origional head set Odyssey Excalibur chromoly single piece crank Tioga Compact Disc 44t Pro neck USA sprocket KMC chain

Re: 1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

it looks pretty dang close to original! looks like it even has an OE seat post clamp and headset. i think the pedals look like aftermarket parts, but otherwise yeah. looks good though-

By the way i just added an annodized teal Doublecross to my collection! it should be posted in a few days!

Re: 1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

you better get on that and find out where it is! i hate slow shippers on ebay!

forgot to mention, i think the rims and hubs might have been stock on some GTs but i'm not sure about on ELFs. i'm thinking someone may have taken the original ELF hubs off and sold em.

Re: 1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

How can this bike be at 3 stars????!!!! It is a mostly original ELF with ELF parts, which are hard to find. I think some jackass just went through and gave a bunch of the bikes bad ratings to bring them down for no reason. This bike is Frickin SWEET! no reason it should be down so low- not that the rating system matters but still, come on people!

YEah I know right? The entire bike is ELF except for the hubs and Thats the way it came  I have a nos set of those hubs  too but I think Im going to lace them for my 24 in doublecross cruiser. This bike now has hand built chrome Dk wheels  and sealed DK hubs. Thanks for the awesome comment on my bike "DOUBLECROSS". Your bike is still nicer and very custom so I cant decide what one I like better! I wish I had a teal one.

I have the same exact bike, looks like the only things that are not stock on your are the chain ring ( the Excalibur cranks are stock ) and the pedals. sweet bike.

Re: 1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

Nice Elf Bro, I'm trying to finish out mine now. started it new and thought at the time that I was doing the bike justice by upgrading the parts.....yikes
Wish I would have built it stock!

Re: 1995 ELF Doublecross Pro

Beautiful bike, no Elfs in my stable as of yet but as I see more and more of them on the museum I am going to have to start the search. Nice work!
