1968 Schwinn Stingray Deluxe
Another incredible one-owner bike, I never had one of these as I grew up in Argentina...I feel this is what I should've had instead of a folding bike!
This bike came up for sale on my local CL in 2016 and I call immediately. When I got the seller's house, he asked me what the deal was with these bikes because he'd gotten a lot of phone calls after mine. Thankfully, even though some offered him more than his asking price, he honored the fact that I called first and sold it to me fo the listed price of $125.00
This 1968 Campus Green Schwinn Deluxe Sting-Ray was restored/cleaned up and re built with all the original parts, just the way the original owner handed it to me. I added 3 spokes to the front wheel and a rear fender bolt and nut because the original bolt broke in half when I was taking it off. The seat is not the original one that came with the bike, the owner replaced it in 1980 I believe, with an original seat, just like the one it originally came with. It was a great experience to work on this bike and I think it came out great, still showing its original owner's touch.
It also came with the original manual with the serial # matching the bike of course and the original retail price...couldn't have asked for more!
