1981 Mongoose Kos Kruiser 26
Changed up all the parts, which changed the look completely. See the "Before" image.
I first built the bike with some extra hoops, tires, and saddle I had in the garage. In the process, I liked how no other Kos in the Museum looked like the one I built. I felt the white tires and saddle really harmonized with the blue and gold bits and set off the chrome nicely.
But after a few months, I realized the parts I chose didn't harmonize with the age of the frame. The components and colors felt too "fresh" for a 40-year old classic. I simply couldn't deny the appeal of a more vintage colorway. But then after a few more months, I tweaked the components again.
I don't know if I'll ever be 100% satisfied with the ensemble. But there is one thing I truly love: the Indy bike shop sticker. It's "Supreme" Haha 😄
