Heres my OG survivor 1986 Haro Sport in envy green. Not too many green Sports were sold in 86, with blue being the most popular color for the Sport, the Master sold mostly in green that year.
I found this bike on Craigslist in October 2014, it was a short hour drive to pick it up, and I was completely stoked to seal the deal. The only parts that were not original when I bought it were the bars, cables, grips, and tires. The paint is slightly faded, and contains a scratch here and there, but not many at all. I found 4 Haro pegs in a Craigslist garage also, pretty much for free...polished em up, found some decals for them, put 1 set on this bike, and my blue one got the other, but pegs, and the white pedals were the only add ons.
The next 6 months were spent completely disassembling, degreasing, removing rust, whitening plastics, finding dated white cables and tires, and polishing...sounds like a lot of work, it was, but I completely enjoyed every minute of this restore. I kicked around the idea of having it repowdered, and even had it boxed up and ready to ship for it, until the shop owner said he couldn't match the green...so I left it og and I'm happy I did 100%!
I now display the bike with my others in my man cave, after my wife suggested the basement. I do throw the rider tires on it and take it for the occasional spin, it rides like a dream, almost like a time machine...
I have to thank the members here, who all helped make this happen for me, info, parts, whatever it was and a big thanks to all who post info on the museums forums, great stuff there, this bike would not be possible without it! I hope you all enjoy :
Please add as a fav thanks!
