1989 Haro Team Master Bashguard
1989 Haro Master - Chrome
This was my dream bike back in the day. Bought her new in 89 and looking forward to finally restoring her this spring / summer. It's been sitting in my garage for years and shows some surface rust, but hoping to be able to polish it back to a nice shine. The frame has no dents, but the bash guard does have some scrapes and gouges. Decals are a little faded and torn in places. From what I can see and remember, the parts that are currently non-original are the grips, rear brake, brake cables, tires, and chain ring... possibly the brake leavers. The leavers that are on it now are Odyssey RX•3's... original? This isn't a Team Master and I'm not sure what the part differences were other than the cranks and chain ring... It's got ACS hubs and i believe rims. Somewhere in my dad's garage I have a box with the original uni-directional chainring and rear Odyssey Pitbull brakes. I remember that I kept bending the uni-directional chain ring when trying to grind things. At one point I went down to a 32 or 36 tooth sprocket to keep from bending it.
So what do you guys think, should I take the decals off and start from scratch or try to salvage them and turn it into a survivor?
