1987 Haro FST

My mate had one of these when I was growing up. I really enjoyed taking it for a strap back then. It was always hard to give it back. Man I wanted that bike!

Got this frame and forks the other year here in Oz from a good guy. After some looking around I bought a C4 Labs decal set for it - took me a bit to match the colour but I got a $3 can of Fiddly Bits that matched pretty well. It was painted when I got it, but it didn't match the colour on the decal set.

I tried to gather as much period correct gear as possible for the build - but had to compromise on some things. Bike has Group 1 stem, Redline double pinch crank, Araya 48's. I changed the Haro whitewalls to Primo V-Monster gumwalls as the whitewalls are on my 87 Sport.

Got it done now but a bit reluctant to ride too much. I did take it for a ride on the Gold Coast here the other year on the ozbmx tour and got a sore arse! I don't remember those dominator seats being that hard!

I have recently changed the wheels to some Skyway Tuff's.  My son has persuaded me to give it to him. He will probably ride it a lot more than I will anyway. It is great to have both my boys involved in an interest that we all share. BMX rides are regularly happening with the kids, it's just a matter of which bike to ride.
