1984 Redline PL-20 Carrera II
Yup, I bought this bike in 1984 and sold it in April '08
It's been hanging in my parents basement for 20+ years. It polished up extremely well. The stickers are in good shape too with only small scuffs. I originally bought it thinking I could race and Freestyle with it. I ended up on a Freestyle team with GT Pro Performers and never really used this much. It's all original parts bought at Jackson's Bike Shop (Milford, Mass) in 1984. I swapped the "V" bars for the straight version of the Stu bars and swapped the 400 series cranks for the 401s. The Suntour pedals it came with wrecked my shins so I went to these MKS Graphite X pedals. Original Suntour sealed bearing hubs and headset lock, Dia-Compe MX100 brakes, Ukai rims, Izumi chain, Redline stem and Cro-Mo fluted post, Kashimax Aero saddle and polished aluminum alloy valve caps. The A'me grips and Comp III tires are from the early 90's. The heated storage saved this! It works perfectly (but I haven't ridden it since the tires are brittle). Check out the pics.
