One of the first generation of non-gusseted Mongoose looptails, mid-1983.  Found in 100% survivor condition with original Mongoose F/F, bars, post. Mongoose stamped cranks, star, chainring, freewheel, headset & bottom bracket, original Mongoose stamped grips in perfect condition.  Proclass wheels (intact silver/black mylar tape) with original Suzue hubs, SR stem & pedals, Aero seat, Lee Chi brakes, MX hinged post clamp.  Original 1.5" rear, 1.75" front Comp III tires. 

I swapped out the grips for reproductions and put repro stickers on.  I know the fork stickers are aligned wrong, but my son wanted it to look like the old ones with the "Mongoose" down the side instead of the front, so what the heck - its his bike.  He'd seen the "Show us your looptails" thread and then this one dropped into my lap, so its all his.  He's 10 and did a lot of the restoration work himself - cleaning, repacking the headset & BB, greasing the brake cables so we could reuse the original housing, putting new tubes in the tires.  He rides it every day.
