1990 MAXXIM Pro (sold)
MAXXIM Pro race frame from 1990's, made in Australia
The MAXXIM company was Australian owned and they manufactured frames and forks out of a small shed in the suburb of Redcliffe, Queensland up until (to the best of my knowledge) the late 1990's. The company was sold off and after that it is unknown as to what happened.
The exact age of this frame is unknown but the person i acquired it from says it's from around 1990. The frame pictured is a Pro model and is missing the decals which had capital letters in black for 'MAXXIM' with a blue paint brush swish background and where featured in the usual down tube area. From memory the headset tube featured a letter 'M' decal. The company also made a Pro XL frame which had longer top tube and smaller frames called Junior and Expert. The company had a few 'Team' riders during their era and they wore MAXXIM logo outfits which where white, blue & black.
This is the first of this kind I have seen in a long time. I'm sure there are others sitting in sheds around the country. If anyone has one that they wish to part with please contact me.
