1993 CRISP 'Mean Mother' -Australian made

Extremely rare Australian made CRISP frame and forks.

The CRISP 'Mean Mother', make and model respectively, was my first true racing bike that was bought brand new and custom built in 1993. This bike won me many races but unfortunately after hitting a car when it jumped out in front of me the bike was put to bike heaven. The CRISP make was quite popular in the mid 80's through to the mid to late 90's. A few people in my club raced them including the 40+ cruiser Australian champion.  I found a photo him racing his other 20" CRISP race bike.  It is very similar to the one featured here except it does not feature the connecting bar (read on for further details).  These bikes are not made anymore and from what i can tell are highly sought after by collectors. If anyone does have one please contact me as i would love to get another. The attached photos are the only ones i could find and it is a pleasure to show it. Take note of the main feature which is a connecting bar from the top of seat tube to the middle of lower bar. It is very similar to the early 'profile' frame set up except the CRISP connecting bar was much thicker in diameter. The 'Mean Mother' decal sticker is featured on this part of the bike.  The paint scheme in picture is original and was metalic black except for the forks and rear quarter which was chrome. The bike was made up of the following parts:

  • CRISP chromoly 4130 frame
  • CRISP chomoly fork, 1"
  • GT Pro .65 bars, width 29"  rise 9"
  • GT XL stem
  • Odyssey 277 seat
  • GT double bolt clamp
  • Powerlite seat post
  • Redline Flight single pinch bolt cranks with non sealed BB, 175mm
  • Odyssey Triple Trap pedals
  • Redline 45T sprocket
  • Joytech sealed hubs w/ unknown rims
  • Tioga comp III tyres
  • Odyssey Pitbull brake caliper
