1980 Cook Bros. Cruiser - "Pancho"
Lefty's super-fly chrome sidekick.
Serial # 428, exact year unknown
I found the frame and fork on ebay in 2006, the seller and first owner claiming it had never been built or ridden. This is my seventh Cook (only one is gone) and the build was determined after I won the set of Phil Wood track hubs, and I decided to go fairly well full-on with super nice chrome and silver parts. The rear hub is a fixed/free flip-flop, so I had to put the fixed cog on there just to be "complete". The bike is a great ride that wheelies like a dream right out of the gate.
The build:
Cook Bros. frame and fork - chrome
Mongoose Kos Kruiser bars
A’me Tri grips - black
Profile inverted quill stem - silver
Chris King Grip-nut headset - silver
Paul “Canti-levers” - silver/black
